HISTORICAL MUSEUM

Hundreds
of artifacts and articles from the prehistoric through the
pioneer "sodbuster" days are displayed. Early day cattle
brands are displayed around the walls and the wall-mounted
picture album depicts people and events from early days of
Banner County. Completely furnished kitchen, living room
and bedroom settings are attractively presented. Numerous
display cases exhibit rare china and glassware, toys, clothing
quilts, books, firearms and more from sod house and log
cabin days. There is a case with frames of Indian
arrowheads, war clubs, scrapers, knives and tomahawks -
reminders of the many tribes that once roamed the hills and
canyons of the county. Notice the identification sign on
the front of the building, "Banner County Museum." It was
constructed from the "tug chains" of 76 sets of harness.

Below: A crowd of visitors during the
annual Museum Open House enjoy old-fashioned fiddle music.
Museum Open House
will be Saturday, June 7, 2008.
