ROCK BUILDING . . .GENERAL STORE
The rock building was completed in 2004.
The rock used for construction came from a house built in early
days in the southeastern part of the county. The rock
was hauled to the original site from nearby hills. This
building completes the museum's display of early construction
materials, sod, log and rock, used by pioneers.
The
building has been made into a general store and is stocked to
depict the types of merchandise available in 1900 along with
1900 prices. It also houses a post office and a schedule of
stage lines into and out of Harrisburg at that time.

You will find everything from butter churns to
buttons, sunbonnets to stoves, potatoes to pots and pans in this
store.
Museum Open House
will be Saturday, June 7, 2008.
